Through a series of interviews with spiritual teachers, Waking Up examines some of the enigmas that seekers have been investigating for millennia. What does it really mean to raise your consciousness? Does it happen in an instant, or is it more of a gradual process? Does awakening perfect all aspects of your personality? Are people beginning to wake up more now than ever before? I find these questions to be of great importance, and hearing a myriad of perspectives was enlightening.

There are recorded discussions with over 30 authors and teachers: many of them I had not heard of before, others dove deeper into those I’d been familiar with previously. Adyashanti’s contribution was by far my favorite. I highly recommend listening to his session. Tami Simon does an outstanding job interviewing everyone, and she synchronically has a way of asking the questions I myself was curious about. After hearing the program, I feel one step closer to realizing for myself the state of awareness many of the speakers are obviously operating from!

I love it! I love how Tami is able to ask so brilliant questions and stay in such a space of open curiosity whatever reply she receives. It has opened my eyes to many new inspirational pathways and also to my own awakening. I would recommend this to anyone who is on the spiritual path searching for some kindred spirits. Listening for the fourth or fifth time and still picking up new things. I enjoy Tami's way of clarifying; and the way she combines covering the same basic topics while also tailoring each discussion to the speaker.

This series is invaluable. It gives us an opportunity to hear the variety of approaches, direct experiences, and language used to describe the indescribable, and re-cognize the non-conceptual, non-dual, essential, luminous and open nature inherent in all of us. A must for meditation and yoga teachers. Recommended for all sentient beings!

It was fascinating, the glimpses into different awakening experiences! It opened my mind to many more possibilities and showed me that my view, of which I was unaware, was limited and pre-determined by my associations with past traditions I had studied and learned about. And yet, there was something they were all pointing to. Very exciting to open up the vista on the universe of possibilities. And thank you Tami, for your wonderful questions, which would have been my questions had I been as sharp and on the ball. They were logical, appropriate and elicited more elucidation from the speakers. It was awakening to listen. I was charged. I recognized the territory and my being resonated with the truths enumerated. I felt intimate with the teachers who shared their personal experiences. They showed their real humanity and so encouraged me to believe it possible that I too could be awake, indeed I recognized my own awake-ness. And thank you Tami, for your kindness in leaving them available a little longer so that I could hear them all, as it is not in my budget to buy them.
